Wiener Stadthalle Hall - Vienna's biggest concert venue
The Wiener Stadthalle, also known as ‘Vienna City Hall’, is Vienna’s largest event and concert venue near the Westbahnhof in the district of Fünfhaus. It is located beside the Gürtel Roadand owned by the City of Vienna.
It is undoubtedly one of the most important event and concert venues in Austria. The Wiener Stadthalle was built between 1955 and 1958, and in the 1960s, its purpose was to serve as a studio for movie productions. Many music movies, westerns and other Austrian movies were shot primarily in the Wiener Stadthalle. The idea was to use this venue to stimulate the Austrian film industry – however, in 1966 it became an asset to the events industry, morphing into the biggest concert hall in Vienna.
The Wiener Stadthalle consists of several halls, of which the biggest has an outlay of 100 by 100 metres. It can hold up to 12,000 people.
Please note that Megaphones, sirens, airhorns and any sort of fireworks are strictly prohibited at the Wiener Stadthalle.
